On October 23, the 8th Study Abroad Fair for 2021/22 Scholarship Master Programs was successfully held online. Shi Jianzhong, Vice President of China University of Poltical Scienc and Law (CUPL), attended the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 40 representatives from 21 partner colleges and universities in eight countries attended the event, including Georgetown University (USA), University of Bristol (UK), Leiden University (NL), Sydney University (AUS), the National University of Singapore, etc. The event lasted for six hours in total and attracted a record number of nearly 500 students.
In the opening ceremony, Shi expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the partner colleges and universities that had given strong support to CUPL's internationalization for a long time. He mentioned that since the Study Abroad Fair was launced in 2013, the number of partner institutions had increased to 58 and the number of the programs increased to 70. With the growing number of partners, programs and scholarships, the Study Abroad Fair had become an essential pillar for the training of high-end international talents of CUPL. Its domestic and international influence had also been expanded. Shi also bried the participants on the latest achivements of CUPL, including its international elements, the “Double First-Class Initiative", disciplines, and etc. Shi warmly invited all partner colleges and universities to actively participate in the World High-End Forum for Jurists and other activities and events to celebrate the 70th birthday of CUPL.
For the first time, the Study Abroad Fair held the North America session (morning) and the Eurasian session (afternoon), providing convenience for participating colleges and universities from various regions and time zones, and targeted information for students. Compared with previous years, this year’s event attracted more prestigious partners, with Georgetown University, the National University of Singapore and other colleges and universities attending for the first time.
During the event, participating institutions presented themselves to CUPL students who intend to pursue further study in world first-class universities, including programs, scholarships, application requirements, and took questions from the students.The Study Abroad Fair is sponsored by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, CUPL. The application for 2022-2023 academic year will be officially launched in early November through the "Global Study System".
