The 3rd UN Job Fair: UNESCO Career Talk Successfully held in CUPL

In the afternoon of April 28, the 3rd UN Job Fair was held successfully  in China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). The event was one of the series of the UN Job Fair activities sponsored by China Scholarship Council and organized by CUPL, Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Minzu University of China. The event is a virtual platform of communication bringing young Chinese students in contact with international organizations. By delivering online salons and information sessions, the event helps Chinese university students build their understanding about international organizations and helps to facilitate internationalization of Chinese higher education.

Rossella Salvia, head of Human Resources Partnerships of UNESCO’s Bureau of Human Resources Management, offered thorough introduction to UNESCO’s structure, missions, professional requirements and cooperation projects. Seven young Chinese UNESCO professionals, who are graduates from China’s universities including CUPL, shared their onboarding and working experiences, and introduced recruitment process as well as dos and don’ts in application. Project managers from CSC and all the speakers took questions from the students on remote internship, UNESCO projects and specialty preferred among others.

It’s noted that apart from this event, there are other six career talks scheduled for the 3rd UN Job Fair, which will be held on 28 and 29 December, 2022. Presenters com from the UN agencies, such as the the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Food Programme (WFP) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
