The 4th Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition Successfully Held

On 10 and 11 June, the 4th Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition was successfully held online. The competition was co-sponsored by China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados (UWI Cave Hill), and organized by the School of International Law, CUPL.

The two-day competition kicked off after the opening ceremony. After intense competition, Team 1 of UWI Cave Hill won the championship of the 4th Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition and Team 1 of CUPL won the Best Memorial Award. Team 2 of CUPL and Team 2 of UWI Cave Hill won the Spirit of the Caribbean-China Moot Award. Li Yijia from CUPL won Best Oralist in the preliminary round, and Rawletta Barrow from UWI Cave Hill won Best Oralist in the final round.

The Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition is a flagship event jointly founded by CUPL and UWI Cave Hill through the Confucius Institute at UWI Cave Hill (CI at Barbados). The 1st Caribbean-China International Law Moot Court Competition was successfully held in Barbados in 2017 with English as its working language. The competition helps to strengthen CUPL’s exchanges with Caribbean countries, enhance its international reputation, and promote its foreign-related legal talent cultivation.
