From December 15 to 23, the Advanced Training Program on Legal Services for SCO Countries took place in Beijing. During this event, senior officials from the Ministry of Justice met with all participants, and Vice Minister Wang Zhenjiang attended the opening ceremony and held talks with ministerial-level trainees from Belarus and Cambodia. Hu Ming, Council Chair of CUPL, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony.
This Training Program was launched as a follow-up of President Xi Jinping's message to the 10th Meeting of Ministers of Justice of SCO member states, an important response to the aspirations of various countries about strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the law and judicial administration, and a platform for exchanges and mutual understanding among the SCO countries’ ministries of justice. The program included lectures, on-site teaching, and visits, with a focus on introducing Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and China's legal practice. Senior legal experts and practitioners provided in-depth explanations on China's national conditions, legal culture, legal services, and international judicial cooperation. Participants were impressed by the great achievements of China's rule of law, and pointed out that the Ministry of Justice of China had set up an effective platform for the ministries of justice of the SCO countries to build consensus, forge friendships, and enhance mutual trust, which would further deepen exchanges and mutual understanding and practical cooperation in the fields of law and judicial administration.
Thirty-three officials from the Ministries of Justice of 11 countries, including Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Mongolia, Azerbaijan and Cambodia, attended the program. The attendees studied at China University of Political Science and Law and visited various legal institutions in China to enhance their understanding of the rule of law. Ma Huaide, President of CUPL, delivered the first lecture on "Implementing Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law and Accelerating the Construction of a Law-based Government."
