In the morning ofJune 24, 2016, the first “Chinese Culture Week” was successfully held by CI atUWI Cave Hill. The closing ceremony was held at the Hall of Queen’s College (QC).Dr. Marva Lashley, Vice-President of QC, Dr. Song Qingbao, Chinese President atCI, and Mr. François Jackman, Foreign President at CI, among some other 260people including staff, students and their parents attended the closing ceremony.
The first “ChineseCulture Week” lasted two weeks, from June 13thto 24th. Morethan 270 people from 3 grades and 9 classes attended the event. During the event,students learned to speak daily Chinese expressions and got to know traditionalChinese culture. On the day of the closing ceremony, many excellent works bystudents were displayed, including: paper-cuts, calligraphy, bookmarks of Pekingopera, paper calabashes and blue and white porcelain. The students also tookphotos in front of the exhibitions. Meanwhile, they wished to have moreopportunities to study the Chinese language and culture.
