In the morning of August 16, 2016, Romanian time, Liu Limin, Vice Minister of Education and his delegation visited the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB) accompanied by Deng Liming, Head of the Education Section of the Chinese Embassy in Romania. The delegation of the Ministry of Education attended the work conference of CI at UB, listened to the CI annual work report, visited the classrooms and offices, and talked with the volunteer Chinese teachers at CI at UB.
Prof. Dong Jingbo, Chinese Co-Director of the CI at UB, and Prof. Luminita Balan, Romanian Co-Director of the CI at UB reviewed the work of the CI from the last year.
Vice Minister Liu Limin spoke highly of the work and expressed great expectations. He hoped that the CI at UB would continue to push forward its development and become a role model for other CIs in the future.
The Vice Minister and his delegation also visited classrooms and offices and attended a photo exhibition and students’ work exhibition.
Vice Minister Liu also talked with the volunteer Chinese teachers there. He acknowledged their devotion to Chinese education and culture communication and took a group photo with all the staff at CI at UB.
On November 22, 2013, the Confucius Institute, co-established by CUPL and UB, held the inauguration ceremony at Bucharest, the Capital of Romania.
H.E. Victor Ponta, Prime Minister of Romania,and H.E. Huo Yuzhen, Chinese ambassador to Romania, jointly inaugurated the CI at UB.
