On the morning of March 24, 2015, CUPL held the reappointment ceremony of the Hon. Mr. Justice CHAN Siu-oi (Patrick Chan) of HKSAR Court of Final Appeal, as our specially-engaged professor at our Xueyuan Road campus.
At the ceremony, Vice President Li Shuzhong expressed a hearty welcome to Hon. Mr. Justice CHAN on behalf of the university for his renewed partnership with CUPL, and expressed his thanks and appreciation to Mr. CHAN for his decision to donate his annual salary for a set of scholarships and student grants. Since September of 2013, CUPL has appointed Mr. CHAN as a specially-invited professor on our campus, and he has come to our university twice a year to teach the course of “General Principles of Common Law” for our undergraduates.
After the ceremony, Mr. CHAN signed the reappointment agreement and Vice President Li Shuzhong issued him the letter of appointment. According to the agreement, the renewed appointment term for Mr. CHAN will last until August 31st, 2017.
