On March 30, 2015, Gao Huanyue, Vice-Chair of CUPL Council, met with Dr. Wolfgang Brandstetter, Minister Justice (Justiz minister) of the Republic of Austria, and other visiting dignitaries, at the CUPL Changping Campus.
Gao Huanyue and our distinguished visitors discussed collaboration between CUPL and Austrian universities and other cooperative exchanges between the two countries. Gao Huanyue also provided information on the major accomplishments that CUPL China-EU School of Law (CESL) has achieved in its pivotal functions, and she extended her sincere invitation to Dr.Brandstetter to visit our university as a scholar in the future.
Minister Brandstetter spoke highly of our university’s achievements in exchanges with his homeland. He further reviewed models of teamwork between CUPL and certain top universities in Austria, such as the University of Vienna, the University of Graz, and the University of Salzburg, and he expressed his congratulations on the successes that CESL has achieved.
After their meeting, Minister Brandstetter was shown around the CESL, and he later delivered a keynote speech to the students on “New Development in EU Judicial Area”.
