On the afternoon of October 21, 2014, CUPL President Prof.Huang Jin was invited to attend talks between China’s Ministry of Education (MOE) and an Austrian delegation led by Mr. Reinhold Mitterlehner, Austria’s Vice-Chancellor and Federal Minister of Science, Research & Economy.During the meeting, President Huang signed a cooperation agreement with his Austrian counterpart, Prof. Dr. Christa Neuper, Rector of the University of Graz, Austria.
Mr. Du Yubo, China’s Vice Minister of Education and Deputy Secretary of the CPC’s Leading Group of the Ministry, exchanged ideas with Mr. Mitterlehner on bilateral cultural and educational cooperation. Mr. Du also expressed his wish to strengthen collaboration between the two sides,for instance by creating and running high-level research-oriented joint-cultivation programs in the days to come, thereby progressing in various related areas.
CUPL President Huang and Rector Neuper signed the aforesaid interscholastic cooperation agreement with Mr. Du Yubo and Mr. Mitterlehner as witnesses.
Other notable members of that Austrian delegation were: Mr. Sebastian Kurz, Austria’s foreign minister, Ms. Inrene Giner-Reichl, Austrian Ambassador to China, Mr.Richard Trappl, Foreign Co-Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna, and others.Mr. Cen Jianjun, Director-General of Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs) of China’s MOE, and other related officials also attended the meeting.
