On the morning of December 16, 2013, at Xueyuan Lu Campus, Vice President Zhu Yong met with Prof. Wang Liming, Assistant to the President of University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland, Director of the Irish Institute for Chinese Studies (UCD Confucius Institute), and Dr. Marie-Luce Paris, Association Dean for International Affairs of School of Lawa t UCD. Director of CUPL International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Ms. Xu Lan, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, both sides expressed their satisfaction as they witnessed the bilateral cooperation proceeding successfully. From signing the cooperation agreement in 2009 to signing the teacher and student exchange agreement in 2012, the two sides have worked together in the spirit of sincere collaboration and mutual trust. At the moment, all aspects of the teacher and student exchange agreements have gone smoothly, which has included sending exchange students and doctoral candidates to study at the mutual campuses, as well as implementing the joint cultivation plan for doctoral candidates. In addition, the two sides also exchanged their views on other matters such as establishing a joint cultivation program for master degree candidates, forming a tripartite cooperation on summer school program, strengthening academic collaboration, and so on.
That afternoon, Dr. Marie-Luce Paris met with Vice Dean of CUPL School of Law, Prof. Xu Shenjiang, and then Vice Dean of our College of Comparative Law, Prof. Lin Lin. They discussed several matters mentioned in the morning’s meeting.
After the talks, Dr. Marie-Luce Paris had an informal discussion with our students. He described the geographic features and the scenery of Dublin, the life and study conditions at UCD campus, its curriculum setting as well as the application requirements for its admission, etc. He also took the time to answer questions raised by interested students.
