On the morning of April 1, 2014, at Xueyuan Lu Campus, Vice President Zhu Yong met with the visiting Prof. Neil T. Gorman, Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, and his party.
Zhu Yong warmly welcomed Gorman’s visit, and stated that the cooperation project of degree, currently being operated by the two parties, was a well regarded example of contemporary international and interscholastic collaboration. He also expressed the hope that the two sides, taking that project as a starting point, could bring along the substantive cooperation in other projects, and expand collaboration into other disciplines other than just law. Gorman voiced that NTU attached great importance to the cooperation with CUPL, and looked forward to receiving the first batch of CUPL students under that degree program to study in their school. Meanwhile, he expressed his confidence that the exchange students would broaden their horizons and enrich their knowledge in a positive academic and cultural atmosphere.
During the talks, Yu Zhigang, Director of the Teaching Affairs Office of CUPL, introduced the current situation of enrollment and admissions of the “3+1+1” degree program jointly run by CUPL and NTU. Xu Lan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of CUPL exchanged views with Gorman on the matter of promoting teacher exchange for short-term lectures on the partner’s campus.
