On the evening of November 1, 2013, at the Sino-German Science Center, President Huang Jin met with Prof. Axel Freimuth, Rector of University of Cologne, Germany (UoC).
Huang Jin firstly recounted the productive history of cooperation between the two universities and their achievements, and then proposed to co-establish a Confucius Institute and an Overseas Research Center for Chinese Law in UoC. Prof. Axel Freimuth stated that these goals happened to coincide with UoC’s internationalization strategy, and UoC was willing to establish a platform to help German students learn more about Chinese Culture and Law. He also stated he would discuss the matters with relevant UoC colleagues and actively promote the plan as soon as he returns to Germany.
Afterwards, the two sides renewed the Intercollegiate Exchange Agreement between the two universities and the Student Exchange Agreement for applying for CSC’s funding concerning international exchange programs for outstanding undergraduates.
