From May 21 to 27, 2013, CUPL Vice President Zhang Guilin led a delegation to visit four universities in Turkey, Germany and Sweden. This visit further advanced the exchange and cooperation between CUPL and top-tiered foreign universities.
On the morning of May 21, the delegation visited Ko? University (KU) in Turkey and engaged in talks with Prof. El?uk Karabati, its Vice President, Prof. Bertil Emrah Oder, Dean of its Law School, and Mr. ?ener Aktürk, Professor of its School of International Studies. Both sides had an in-depth discussion on the exchange and cooperation of teachers and students according to the Intercollegiate Exchange Agreement signed in June, 2011. During the meeting, Ko? University expressed its willingness to invite CUPL students to attend the 3rd Legal and Global Business International Student Forum which is going to be held by KU in the first half of 2014.
On the afternoon of May 22, the delegation visited the Faculty of Law at the University of Cologne (Germany), and held talks with previous Deans, Thomas Weigend and Barbara Grunewald, its Deputy Dean Christian von Coelln, and Mr. Bj?rn Ahl, professor of East Asian Institute at UoC. Both sides first reviewed the history and achievements in the field of teacher and student exchange as well as cooperation between the two universities over the last two decades. Then the visitors and the hosts had an in-depth discussion and reached an agreement on how to expand and advance cooperation.
On the afternoon of May 23, CUPL delegates visited the Institute for Law and Finance (ILF) at The Goethe University Frankfurt (Goethe Universitaet Frankfurt am Main), and conducted talks with Mr. Rolf Friedewald, its Executive Director of Master Program, and Ms. Shen-Dee Kobbelt. The delegation also visited the library, classroom and other facilities of ILF.
On the morning of May 27, the delegation visited the Faculty of Law at Lund University (Sweden), and held talks with its Dean, Christina Mo?ll. Both sides first looked back on the benefits that the two universities have enjoyed since they first signed the Exchange Agreement two years ago. Then the two parties discussed teacher and student exchanges plans for the future. They also reached agreements on a variety of matters such as collaborative scientific research, joint development of remote video seminars, joint cultivation program for Master Degree candidates, and other cooperative measures.
