On the afternoon of May 29, 2013, President Huang Jin met with Mr. Thierry Rommel, Coordinator of Department of EuropeAid Development & Cooperation (DEVCO) under European Commission, and Mr. Johan Cauwenberg, Minister Counselor of the Delegation of European Union to China, and their delegation at the Changping Campus. The Hosts and the guests held talks on the future development of CUPL’s China-EU School of Law (CESL).
During the talks, President Huang expressed that CUPL would persist steadfastly to support the development of CESL and join hands with other partner universities to make greater achievements in the future cooperation based on the principles of sincere cooperation and mutual benefit. He also pointed out that CESL had already made rapid progress over the past five years. He believed that CESL has a bright future under the energetic support of both governments.
On behalf of European Union, Mr. Johan Cauwenberg firstly expressed his appreciation for CUPL’s great accomplishments over the last five years and for the amount of hard work CESL has contributed. Meanwhile, he also indicated that both governments were now planning the development of a long-term vision for the program, and that the EU would continuously support CESL and continue to seek opportunities for the program to grow.
