Recently, CUPL and the University of the West Indies (UWI) reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and formally established intercollegiate cooperation.
Located in the scenic Caribbean region, UWI was co-founded by 16 local English speaking countries. UWI has 3 campuses: one at Mona in Jamaica, the other at St. Augustine in Trinidad, and the third one at Cave Hill in Barbados. In 2009, Vice President Xi Jinping attended the unveiling ceremony of the Confucius Institute at Mona campus, UWI.
Based on the MOU, CUPL and UWI will develop cooperation and exchanges in certain areas such as the exchange of faculty members and students, teaching and academic research.
