On March 20, 2013, at the Xueyuan Lu Campus, Vice President Zhu Yong met with Margareth Etienne, Vice Dean of the Law School under University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), and Charlotte Ku, Assistant to the Dean of UIUC Law School, as well as their support staff.
After an in-depth exchange of views, the two sides reached a consensus on the following matters: first, the two universities will engage in comprehensive cooperation and, at the university level and simultaneously commence work on drafting and approving a cooperative framework agreement. Second, both sides will initially carry out cooperation in certain specific fields, such as law student and teacher exchange, J.S.D. cultivation, students’ Summer School, etc. Third, UIUC will offer certain scholarships to assist CUPL candidates studying for a Jurisprudence Master Degree. Fourth, both sides, based on the above cooperation agreement, will strive to develop collaborative programs at the level of cooperatively running the Chinese-foreign school at a later time when conditions are right.
