President Huang Jin Meets Ambassador Serge Abou

On December the 17th 2010, the EU Ambassador in China Serge Abou and his delegation visited our university.

On the morning of the 17th, the President met Ambassador Huang Jin in room 308 of the Mingfa building. President Huang Jin welcomed the ambassador on the occasion of his special trip to the China-EU School of Law prior to his resignation. President Huang Jin said, the wonderful achievement after two years of the establishment of China-EU School of Law was all due to the cooperation and the joint effort of the representative universities; CUPL (China University of Political Science and Law) and the University of Hamburg and is proving to be continually developing. All departments are working together and cooperating at CUPL, to put forward their best effort to build up the China-EU School of Law. The quality of the teaching profession, the administrative skills and the educational philosophy of the China University of Political Science and Law will continue to provide reliable security for the development of the China-EU School of Law.

Ambassador Serge Abou said, “This is my last visit to CUPL as an ambassador. I would like to tell the President that, in the meeting with the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education Hao Ping yesterday, I mentioned that the support the European Union gives to China-EU School of Law will no doubt be a long term thing. We are very glad for the establishment and the development of the School, and we are proud of her. As ambassador, I am very glad everyday that I chose CUPL at the time and facts have proven it was the best choice.”

Finally, the EU Ambassador, Serge Abou gave two suggestions to the China-EU School of Law: one; to increase the number of Master’s degree students and two; to produce more research results. President Huang Jin firmly agreed to the ambassador’s suggestion.

After the meeting , Ambassador Serge Abou delivered a speech on EU - China: the future of the occopration relationship to more than 100 students and answered their questions.
