Chinese and Foreign Guests enjoying conversation at the Spring Reception
On the evening of 16 January 2009, our office of International Cooperation and Exchange held a 2009 reception to welcome in the Chinese New Year. 70 Chinese and Foreign guests were invited to attend the reception. Present at the reception were diplomats from the embassies of Germany, England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Korea, Iceland, Botswana and the European Union representative office in China etc. Among those present, were Dr. Michael Friedrich Wilhelm Schaefer, and the representatives of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ Beijing Office) and the China Office of the Friedrich - Ebert Foundation. The heads of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs, the Beijing Education Committee, the Beijing City Foreign Affairs Office, the Office in Charge of Funding for Overseas Studies etc. Teachers from CUPL were also represented, as well as members of the Committee for International Exchange from the university, and those in charge of related institutes and departments.
