On February 24, 2009 Vice-President Zhu Yong welcomed Honorary President of the Robert Schuman University Prof. Florence Benoit-Rohmer and Mr. Mattieu Birker, a lecturer at the same institution, to the CESL. Also on hand to extend the welcome were: Prof. Ninon Colneric, Co-Dean of CESL; Dr. Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of the Institute of Human Rights and Human Caring Law; Prof. Wang Jingbo from the Research Centre for Government by Law; and Ms. Xu Lan from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
Vice-President Zhu Yong gave a warm welcome to the delegates from the Robert Schuman University led by Prof. Florence Benoit-Rohmer and introduced some general information about CESL relating to the education and research projects of the past four months. Prof. Benoit-Rohmer expressed her highest admiration for the operation of CESL and its top quality students. Vice-President Zhu Yong discussed with Prof. Florence the issues of how to share education resources and open CESL's courses to students from other faculties of CUPL. He further expressed his hope that the overall use of CESL's education resources will enhance the benefit of all students.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on how to best form a mutually cooperative relationship, reaching a consensus on student and faculty exchanges as well as common research. After consultation, the two sides have agreed to further talks in the hope of signing a formal cooperative framework agreement.
