April 15, 2009, President Huang Jin, met with Professor Heinz Meyer, the Dean of the School of Law, University of Vienna, Austria at College Road campus. He was accompanied by the Director of the Institute of East Asia, Dean of the Confucius Institute Professor Richard Lee (Richard Trappl). Dean of the Faculty of Law, Xue Gang Ling, Dean of China - EU School of Law Fang Liufang and Director Xulan of International Cooperation and Exchange were present at the meeting.
Huang Jin firstly welcomed the coming of the guests from Austria. He gave a brief introduction to our university for the guests, especially the achievements in foreign cooperation and exchange between our universities in recent years and expressed the great importance that our university places on its cooperation with the University of Vienna, and his hope that the two universities will have cooperation in many fields. Professor Meyer also expressed the wish of their university to establish friendly partnership relations between both universities. After that, the two sides talked in-depth on the areas of cooperation, such as the lectures, scholars exchange visits, student exchange, occupational training projects and so on. The two universities intend to begin exchanging their specific views on cooperation and exchange in order to pave the way to enable both parties to sign a formal agreement of cooperation.

The university is located in central Europe and is rich in both opportunities and challenges, and is famous for having produced eight Nobel Prize winners. At present, the University of Vienna is among the best in the world.
