In the afternoon of April 18, 2009, President Huang Jin met the Director of the Cairncross Foundation of Oxford, England, Dr Cyril Lin. The secretary of the Beijing Branch of the Carincross Foundation, Ms Su Guoli as well as Director Xulan of International Cooperation and Exchange were also present at the meeting.
Firstly President Huang Jin in delivering his welcome address to Dr Lin and his delegation for their return visit and also expressed his gratitude for the help which the foundation has extended towards the students from the poorer minority groups to enable them to attend the Oxford Summer School program. He also expressed his wish that through the good cooperation with the foundation, they will be able to go further towards having a cooperative exchange with other famous universities in the United Kingdom. Director, Dr Lin highly praised the excellent accomplishment of our students and their excellent conduct while in England and he also mentioned that they will give further financial help to encourage more, high achieving minority group students from less developed areas to attend the Summer School program in England. He also mentioned that the Foundation will work hard to help find more cooperating parties for CUPL.
Both parties exchanged their ideas on how to extend and develop areas of cooperation, and develop a teacher training program and exchange and cooperation among academics from famous universities in the United Kingdom.
