This forum, held in the context of a highly developed and normalised mechanism of exchange which has been established on past exchanges by the legal fraternity, serves as a platform which will take law education and the exchange of research in law studies to a higher level. Through the exchange in law studies, it will serve to enhance the culture and the economy and other areas of exchange and cooperation more effectively. This is significant in strengthening the understanding and trust between those who share the same ethnic background and culture, namely, the people on either side of the strait.
Next year, in order to further strengthen the forum and increase cross-straits influence, a second cross-straits forum between the Chancellors of the University of Law, will be hosted by Taipei University in the north and Kaohsiung University in the south of Taiwan. The aim of the forum is to conduct a wide range of exchange, in an atmosphere of friendly and agreeable cooperation.
