In the morning of 27 November, 2008, Vice Chancellor Zhu Yong met the Director of the Cairncross Foundation, England, Mr Cyril Lin in the meeting room of the Xueyuan Road Campus, accompanied by the Chartered Secretary of the Foundation, Ms Su Guoli. The Deputy Head of Department of The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of our university, Li Guoqiang was also present.
Vice Chancellor Zhu Yong firstly expressed his welcome to Mr Cyril Lin and his accompanying colleague, and then expressed his appreciation for the help of the foundation towards the students of our university, making it possible for them to attend the Oxford University Summer School program. The Director, Mr Lin, mentioned that the summer school program is a very good exchange program for the students. Those students who attend this program are outstanding. Vice Chancellor Zhu Yong mentioned that our university will continue to support the program for the long term, in order to create opportunities for our students to experience world class education. Both parties exchanged ideas in depth for further cooperation and support for the development of this program to a higher level. Both parties reached the same views and discussed further about developing this program. Recommendations were also made, such as selecting and sending lecturers from Oxford University to come and deliver lectures at our university and to send Master’s students from our university to visit Oxford University for study.
