In the afternoon of the 19th of December, Vice President Zhu Yong met the director of the Integrated Marketing Communications Centre from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Professor Clarke Caywood. The Dean of the School of Journalism and Communications at CUPL, Song Jianwu and the Deputy Head of the office of the International Cooperation and Exchange, Li Guoqiang attended the meeting.
Vice President Zhu Yong welcomed Professor Caywood and spoke in detail to the visitors regarding the management of the CUPL. Professor Caywood expressed his gratitude at being invited to visit the university and went on to commend our university’s achievements in regard to the development and integration of many disciplines. During the meeting, the dean, Song Jianwu, gave the visitors an overview on the development of the disciplines and of the fostering of talent within the school of Journalism and Communications at this university.
The two parties also discussed the possibility of cooperation and exchange within a wider range of different fields in the future.

Professor Caywood has been recognised as an expert on crises management within the field. In the past, he has been a campaign consultant for the Governor of Wisconsin and has filled a high position and has been named by a US public relations magazine as one of ten most influential and one of ten most outstanding professors in the field of public relations.
