On July 27, 2017, Prof. Huang Jin, President of CUPL, met with Pastor Segundo Mamani Villca, President of the Supreme Court and Administration Committee of the National Academy of Judges of Bolivia and Heriberto Quispe, Bolivian Ambassador to China.
President Huang first extended a warm welcome to the guests and briefed the delegation on CUPL, including its history, unique features, disciplines, faculty and the current progresses of international development. President Huang highlighted, in particular, the increasingly close and frequent exchanges of teachers and students and academic cooperation between Latin-American countries and CUPL in recent years, as well as the achievements CUPL has made in training talents majoring in Spanish language and legal science. In addition, President Huang expressed the hope for Villca’s visit not only to facilitate the first cooperation between the universities and judicial system of Bolivia with CUPL, but also to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation in the field of judicial system construction and talent training between the two countries.
Villca spoke highly of the great achievement CUPL had made in legal education and international exchanges and recognized the important role CUPL has played in the process of advancing the rule of law in China. He mentioned particularly that it was very meaningful for the National Academy of Judges of Bolivia and CUPL to sign the cooperative memorandum on July 27, which is the Judges’ Day of Bolivia. Villca hoped that both sides could conduct substantive cooperation in various fields, such as Master Degree Programs in Chinese law, joint training programs and Chinese language learning for designate judges.
Quispe said that under the “the Belt and Road Initiative”, Bolivia would vigorously promote its extensive and in-depth cooperation with China in various fields such as investment, trade, education, science and technology, culture, and expected positive interactions in teacher and student exchange programs, scientific research cooperation, co-establishing Confucius Institutes and so on.
The participants had a thorough discussion on several topics, such as their respective education model, students’ career development and curriculum, and fully exchanged views on the model for the future co-operation.
After that, president Huang and Villca signed The Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Exchanges and Cooperation between China University of Political Science and Law and the National Academy of Judges of Bolivia together.
