On October 4, 2017, the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB) visited the Institute of Solid Mechanics of the Romanian Academy of Sciences. The CI staged a brilliant performance of dancing, singing, Tai Chi fan, Hulusi (cucurbit flute) and so on for the researchers at the Institute and brought moon cakes and tea for them. Together, staff of the CI celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with the researchers there. The Institute of Solid Mechanics of the Romanian Academy of Sciences is a well-known scientific research institution in Romania which has a close partnership with China. Moreover, researchers from the Academy of Sciences are strongly interested in the Chinese language and culture.
The successful implementation of “the Belt and Road” Initiative is impossible without scientific research cooperation and innovation. The CI at UB hoped that through this cultural activity, more researchers will start learning the Chinese language and more talents and technologies will be attracted to China. As a result, scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Romania will be promoted and the comprehensive strength for both countries will be greatly enhanced.
