In the afternoon of October 13, 2017, Prof. Ma Huaide, Vice President of CUPL met with Jurgen Conrad, Head of the Economics Unit at Asian Development Bank (ADB) P.R.C., at the Xueyuanlu campus.
Prof. Ma stressed that CUPL had attached great importance to cooperation with international organizations and institutions, such as the World Bank and Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, to actively organize student internship projects. He said it is satisfying to see that ADB had exchanges and communications with the School of Law and Economics of CUPL and had signed a research project agreement, “On Financial Stability and Financial Supervision", with Prof. Xi Tao, Dean of the School. Prof. Ma hoped that the two sides will further strengthen and further expand the cooperation.

Conrad thanked Ma Huaide for his warm welcome and mentioned that ADB needed talents with various disciplinary backgrounds. He welcomed the participation of faculty and students of CUPL in ADB projects through various channels and said he would promote the partnership with CUPL in scientific research cooperation, student internship projects and other aspects.
Then, Conrad gave a lecture on "Economic Development and Reforms in the PRC" for faculty and students of the School of Law and Economics. Prof. Xi Tao, Dean of the School of Law and Economics, and Xu Lan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, accompanied Prof. Ma during the meeting.
