In the morning of October 31, 2017, Mr. Zhang Wenjian, Assistant Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) paid a visit to the Confucius Institute at the University of the West Indies, Barbados (CI at Barbados), and met with Chinese Co-Director Prof. Song Qingbao and faculty of the CI. After introducing the development of meteorology in China and beyond, as well as the critical role of meteorology in the stability and prosperity of the Caribbean area, Mr. Zhang also asked questions about the CI. Prof. Song briefed Mr. Zhang on the CI, including its history, scale and orientation. After that, he also presented Mr. Zhang with a Development Report on the CI at Barbados.
