At 1 p.m. (local time) on November 24th, the 5th Romania Asian Cultural Festival held its grand opening ceremony. China was invited as guest of honor and the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB), co-operated by CUPL, was the organizer of the festival. The art troupe of CUPL travelled thousands of miles to Romania and brought a splendid Chinese cultural performance for the local people. Yan Jianbin, Chinese Cultural Counsellor in Romania, Prof. DongJingbo, Chinese Co-Director of CI at UB, Prof. Luminita Balan, Romanian Co-Director of CI at UB, and teachers and students of the CUPL art troupe led by Sun Lu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League of CUPL, attended the event. A representative of the art troup also made a speech at the opening ceremony. The Asian Cultural Festival was a great success and attracted tens of thousands of local residents and many cultural units.
