On November 22, 2017(local time), the 24th Romanian GAUDEAMUS International Book & Education Fair was launched at Romexpo Exhibition Centre, Romania. Authorized by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China (sapprft), China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation (CNPIEC) led the Chinese delegation to participate in the book fair with assistance of the Confucius Institute at the University of Bucharest (CI at UB). Prof. Dong Jingbo, Chinese Co-Director of the CI at UB, expressed a warm welcome to the Chinese delegation in the fair and led the faculty and students of the CI to participate actively in the book fair, providing a great deal of human and material support.

The China book fair mainly exhibited the English version of books, with categories including theme books, traditional culture, humanities and social sciences. There were more than 70 excellent books exhibited, such as An illustrated Guide to Chinese Medicines, Help From Chinese Medicine series, and other books related to traditional culture and skills.
The CI at UB had carefully prepared Chinese knots, fans, facial masks and other exhibits with Chinese cultural characteristics for this fair and displayed and delivered Chinese traditional calligraphy as gifts to the participants.

In the fair, many Romanian people came to buy Chinese books and communicated with the staff, hoping to get more knowledge about China. CNPIEC donated a series of Chinese books to the CI at UB, hoping that the CI will better promote Chinese culture.
