It is reported that so far, 146 countries and regions have established 525 CIs as well as 1113 Confucius Classrooms in middle and primary schools. CUPL has established three overseas CIs since 2012. With vigorous growth, these three CIs have made great achievements. Last year, Prof. Luminita Balan, Romanian Co-Director of the CI at UB, won the “Confucius Institute Individual Performance Excellence Award”; and this year, two CIs of CUPL were awarded “Confucius Institute of the Year”. It is the national recognition and highest awards for CIs of CUPL. In the future, CUPL will spare no efforts to promote the construction and development of the CIs and accelerate the internationalization strategy and “Double First-Tier” university project, thus playing a more positive role in the promotion of the Chinese language and the advancement of international cultural exchanges.
