On April 4, CUPL President Huang Jin met with German jurist, Prof. Ulfrid Neumann from Frankfurt University, who is also the former Chairman of the International Association for the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR).
During the meeting, President Huang first extended a warm welcome to Prof. Neumann, and then made a brief introduction about CUPL, including its history, faculty, as well as the achievements in discipline construction, internationalization and so on. President Huang also expressed his hope for keeping long-term and stable academic exchanges between Prof. Neumann and CUPL.
Prof. Neumann thanked President Huang for his warm welcome and introduction, and he also praised the academic achievements of CUPL. Prof. Neumann said he was looking forward to more opportunities for further academic exchanges with faculty and students of CUPL.
At the invitation of China-EU School of Law (CESL), Prof. Neumann will deliver two lectures during his visit to CUPL this time: one titled Basic issues of Criminal Law in the context of Philosophy of Law at the Changping Campus on April 10, and the other on The Concept and Techniques of Commentaries on Laws at the Xueyuanlu Campus on April 12.
Prof. Liu Fei, Chinese Co-Dean of CESL, Prof. Zheng Yongliu and Assistant Professor Zhao Tianshu of CESL also attended the meeting.
