In the morning of April 8, during the visit of Alexander Van der Bellen, President of Austria, and Sebastian Kurz, Premier of Austria, to China, CUPL President Huang Jin, at the invitation of University of Vienna, attended the China-Austria Signing Ceremony for Cooperation Agreements in the Fields of Economy, Education, Science and Technology held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beijing and signed a cooperation agreement between CUPL and University of Vienna together with Heinz W. Engl, President of University of Vienna.
During the signing ceremony, President Huang had a cordial communication with President Engl and recalled the friendly relations and cooperation between two universities in the fields of law, politics, etc., including students exchange and joint training program at various levels, short term teaching program and jointly organized workshops on the Legal History of China and Europe, Austria and China: Changing Society, etc. The two sides hoped to strengthen cooperation on high-level and research-based programs and promote development in all fields.
Later, witnessed by Alexander Van der Bellen, President of Austria, and Sebastian Kurz, Premier of Austria, President Huang and President Engl signed a cooperation agreement between the two universities. According to the agreement, the two sides will develop short-term faculty visits and research cooperation programs, with the aim of further promoting academic exchanges and cooperation among faculties from the two sides.
Also attending the event were Richard Trappler, President of the Confucius Institute of the University of Vienna, and Xu Lan, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange of CUPL.
