The Cooperation Agreement between Erasmus University Rotterdam and CUPL Was Renewed

In the afternoon of April 9, CUPL President Huang Jin met with Kristel Baele, President of Erasmus University Rotterdam in Netherlands, and witnessed the renewal of the cooperation agreement signed by representatives of the two universities.

President Huang said that he was very pleased to meet with President Baele, and briefed her about the history, achievements, disciplines, faculty, as well as international exchanges and cooperation of CUPL. In addition, President Huang recalled the in-depth cooperation with Erasmus University Rotterdam in law and legal education, and hoped that both universities can actively expand bilateral cooperation to fields like politics, sociology, philosophy, economics, and other cross-disciplinary programs.

President Baele said that she agreed with President Huang’s proposal for further expanding cooperation. Erasmus University Rotterdam is a comprehensive university, which is highly compatible with the disciplines in CUPL, especially in humanities and social sciences. She excepted that, on the basis of consolidating cooperation in the field of law, the two universities would actively promote cooperation in a wider range of disciplines.

Later, witnessed by President Huang and President Baele, Xu Lan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at CUPL, and Fabrian Amtenbrink, Deputy Dean of Erasmus School of Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam, renewed the cooperation agreement between the two universities. According to the agreement, the two sides will continue to carry out programs on student exchanges and faculty short-term visits, as well as jointly organizing seminars and other academic activities.

Professor Li Yuwen, Director of the Chinese Law Center at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and other staff from both sides also attended the meeting.
