During the meeting, Prof. Hu firstextended a warm welcome to all delegates on behalf of CUPL, and. He thenbriefed the delegates on CUPL, including its history,strengthscharacteristics and scale, as well as the current situationand programs as well as and point of interestsof international cooperation and exchanges.Prof. Hu said, thatCUPL hashad always attached great importance to the implementation ofthe international strategy, and Confucius Institute isarea a significant part of itcomponent of this strategy. The CI at UB has acquiredhas mademany achievements withina rather short historysince its establishment, which proves not just the concerted efforts of both Chinese andRomanian staff have dedicated, butalso the support and assistance theRomanian delegates have provided. WeProf. Huhoped thatboth sidespartieswillwould stay committed to actively advancing the development of the CI, through whichand tostrengthenspeople-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation.
Prof. Gina Fintineru, Vice Rector of University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, appreciated CUPL staff for making the visit possible with limited time for preparation andfor their warm reception. Prof. Gina thenmentionedintroduced theRomanian delegation,which constitutedteachers and educatorsatmultiple levels constitute the delegations. ItProf. Gina said that it wasisa precious opportunity for the delegates to visit Chinese schools ofatmultiple levels. They have moreand expressedherexpectations for further cooperation with the CI and CUPL inthe field of education, which theywbelieve wilouldlfacilitate tohelpexpand thehorizon of localRomanian students broaden their horizons.Prof. Cristina-Anca Colibaba, Executive President ofthe EuroEdFoundationandandChair ofthe Languages Department, Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy,she said,thatunder the influence of the CI at UB, more and more Romanianpeoplehadcome to havedevelopedinterests in learningthe Chinese language and culture, whic. This demonstrates the successful work of the CI at UB andh isprovidesa good basis for future cooperation among CUPL, the CI at UB and EuroEd Foundation, to forgea cross-cultural, multilingual and internationalprogramswith global visionin the future. Besides, Prof.sheColibabamentioned that, Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy and EuroEdFoundationhavehadthe intention to co-establish a CI and a Confucius Classroom,and so they hoped to learn more experience from CUPL.

The Romanian Education Delegationis the thirdCI education delegation CUPL has received through the platform of Confucius Institutes inoverthe past 4 years, which was fundedunder the sponsorshipby ofHanban (CI headquarters). The following agenda for tThe delegation includeswill alsovisiting Hanban (CI headquarters), the Affiliated School of CUPL (Changping District), Beijing Royal School, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicineand other schools and universities. Through these visits, they will,toexperience local customs and history of Beijing and Xi’an.
