On 21 September, thepresentation on CUPL’s overseasprojects for postgraduates in academic year 2019-2020 and the debutof Global Learning Management Platformwere successfully held in the Xueyuanlu campus.Prof. Ma Huaide, Vice President of CUPL and Liu Chao, Deputy Director of Europe, Asia and Africa Department of China Scholarship Council attended the event. Theevent is co-organised by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange/ the Office of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, Graduate School and the Office of Confucius Institute of CUPL. Some200 students took part in the event, which was moderated by Prof. Xu Lan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
At thedebutceremony, Prof. Ma commenced the Global Learning Management Platform and initiated the first program, i.e. the exchange program for postgraduates of CUPL to study in University of California, Berkeley in the spring semester in 2019. In his speech, Prof. Ma pointed out that CUPL attached great importance to international development. Under the strong support of central government departments and relevant institutions, such as the Ministry of Education and the China Scholarship Council, CUPL had alreadyestablished partnership with 247 well-known universities, research institutions and international organizations in 50 countries and regions.Every year, more than 1,000 teachers and students go abroad for further education through various projects. The internationalization of the school has also entered into a new stage.Prof. Ma indicated that CUPL would continue to make best use of resources. Including funding and grants from China Scholarship Council and“Double First-Class” construction fund, to send more outstanding studentsto study and take part in exchange programs in leading universities and important international organizations. He hoped that CUPL students could dream big, plan ahead, actively apply for projects and cherish opportunities,to realize the dream of studying abroad as soon as possible.

Liu Chao gave a speech with the title of “Understanding the overseas programs organized by CSC”, in which he explained in detail the national grants for exchange students in 2018, the selection plan in 2019, project category, application procedures and gives tip on application.He also gave many examples to analyze the common errorsas well as countermeasuresduring application and communication.
Then, Mr. LyuYong, Prof. Xiao Baoxing, Ms. LiDandanintroduced the overall situation, program channel and application process of overseas programs for postgraduates in CUPL, including the application, approval and FAQs of programs financially supported by China Scholarship Council as well as the volunteer programfor Chinese teachersby Confucius Institute.
In the Q&A session, staff of the relevant departments of CUPL took the questions raised by students.CUPL willhold a lecture for undergraduates at the Changping Campus in the noon of October 16th.
