In the afternoon of March 1, Vice President Prof. Ma Huaide met with the delegation from Soochow University (SCU) led by Prof. Dong Baocheng, Vice President of SCU, Wang Shufang, Chief Secretary& Dean of Office of Social Resource, Zhuang Wanlin, Director of the Office of Alumni Service and Social Resource, and Wang Junwen, Director of Office of Career Development from SCU at the Xueyuanlu Campus.
Prof. Ma expressed his welcome to Prof. Dong and his delegation. Then, Prof. Ma reviewed the history of the bilateral cooperation and exchanges between the two universities. In particular, he pointed out that CUPL and SCU signed a cooperation agreement in 1993. CUPL is the first university in mainland of China to conduct legal cooperation and exchanges with universities in Taiwan of China. Over the past 26 years, the two universities have carried out fruitful cooperation in the field of law and have made great contributions to promoting the exchange of legal circles between mainland of China and Taiwan of China. Prof. Dong expressed his gratitude to the warm reception of CUPL, and introduced SCU's efforts to facilitate students' internships in mainland enterprises.
Later, the two sides held in-depth discussions on the 10th Cross-Strait Law School Presidents Forum, the 20th Cross-Strait Administrative Law Academic Seminar, students’ summer programs, students’ internships, and administrative staff exchanges, etc.
Prof. Wang Jingbo, Dean of School of Law-based Government, Cao Liu, Associate Professor of School of Law-based Government, Prof. Xu Lan, Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan Affairs, and Mr. Wang Fuping, Deputy Director of the Office of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan Affairs also attended the meeting.
